Your Hosts, Thomas and Tracey
Thomas of Ngāpuhi descent and Tracey of Ngāti Tuwharetoa and Ngāti Rangi descent,
are born and bred locals who have expert knowledge of the area.
They are hikers themselves and enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life,
passing on local knowledge and sharing stories of the region.
In the Winter of 2019, they purchased Manowhenua Lodge – formally known as Ski Haus.
The lodge has recently undergone a revamp to enhance and celebrate its original heritage.
A message from your hosts:
"We are a locally owned family business situated in the beautiful National Park Village.
What makes our business unique is our expert local knowledge of the area. Having engaged in the many activities this exquisite adventure playground has to offer and to be able to share this knowledge with you while you sit back and relax until we reach your next destination will complement your experience.
We would be delighted to assist you while visiting our beautiful area by taking the hassle out of your transportation needs. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing, a world renowned one day trek is one of the many beautiful offerings we have right here at our door step.
You can be assured we take great pride in the safety requirements and needs of our passengers with advice, and guaranteed pickup."
